Dr Bronwyn McNamara - CHIROPRACTOR
Dr Bronwyn McNamara is a principle chiropractor and the owner of Wellness For Life Chiropractic. Bronwyn is originally from Melbourne where she completed her five year full time chiropractic degree at RMIT University in 1993. Bronwyn always wanted to live in the country so she and her husband Scott (who is a builder by trade) moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1996, and took over a run down clinic in Kawana. Through dedication, innovation and enthusiasm they turned the run down business around and in 1999 won the Caloundra Zone GIO Award for Excellence in Business in the Service Industry.
Bronwyn has had chiropractic care since she was a baby and her whole family regularly receives chiropractic care. Bronwyn is committed to her work as a chiropractor and says "I love what I do and I do what I love." She believes that Chiropractic is not just a job, it is a way of life. "Once you have an understanding of how the body really works you tend to make choices in your life that work with the body and not against it." She feels that by sharing her understanding of the body and physiology she can help people have more faith, confidence and belief in their own body's ability to heal and be well. Knowledge helps to empower people. She believes it is also important to educate people about simple changes that they can make to their lifestyles to improve their health and well being. To Bronwyn the saying "Feed a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" really rings true.
Bronwyn is very passionate and enthusiastic about chiropractic and the role it can play in an individuals health, the health of a family, a community and globally. "I am grateful to be in such a wonderfully positive profession where I can contribute to helping people heal naturally." Bronwyn would like to one day represent the chiropractic profession in its associated role with the World Health Organisation through the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC)."
Bronwyn established Wellness For Life Chiropractic in 2005. She sourced the land, processed development applications through council, helped design the buildings and even helped with some of the building works! Bronwyn is very proud of the fact that last year Wellness For Life Chiropractic won both the local and state Master Builders Awards in the Health Facilities Category. "I am very thank-full that I have been able to achieve what I have, but I don't believe that it is luck or good fortune. I believe that when you put your heart and mind to something and have a picture or vision that is greater than just your own self that great things can be achieved."
One of Bronwyn's favourite sayings is a quote by Gandhi, "BE the change you wish to see in the WORLD".
Dr Richard Mitton- CHIROPRACTOR
My name is Richard Mitton and I am delighted to have joined the team at “Wellness for Life Chiropractic” in November 2010.
I graduated as a chiropractor from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1987. I am relatively new to the Sunshine Coast having previously spent 23 years running my own family wellness practice in Hamilton in the Western Districts of Victoria.
With a young family of my own, I have a keen interest in assisting busy families to get and stay healthy. This starts with empowering them with an understanding of how chiropractic care can assist the natural healing capabilities of the body from the inside out.
Having come from a rural background working on farms and riding lots of horses, I am well aware of the consequences of accumulated injuries as a child. For me, lots of falls lead to significant headaches and migraines. As such I have a strong belief that chiropractic care is a far better approach to health before all the consequences appear than waiting for the symptoms to take their toll sometime down the track.
When I am not working I enjoy travelling with my family, fishing, snow skiing, swimming, running and building.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Sincerely, Richard
